Celia Washington was born in Edinburgh and studied on a scholarship in the early 80s at the Byam Shaw Art School in London. Her work is in collections in Europe, North and South America, India and Japan. Although primarily a painter, she has also done etching, screen-printing, arc welding and documentary film-making. She has worked and lived in Florence, Nepal, Paris, Tokyo, Madrid and Edinburgh, and is now based between London and Kathmandu.
In 2007 she spent seven months in Nepal as artist in residence at Kathmandu University, Her experiences there led her to set up the Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre charity, www.kathmanduarts.orgBrowse work by this artist
